Good Questions

When should I respond by?

We'd love to hear from you by June 30th, 2026. RSVP by clicking on the button below and let us know your meal preference while you're at it!

Can I bring a plus one, and are children welcome?

Absolutely! We do ask that plus ones be limited to partners only, as we are keeping our celebration intimate. Please include their name and meal preference when you RSVP. Children are very much welcome too. Please let us know if you have any specific accommodations or dietary needs for your little ones.

What is the dress code?

Black Tie Optional. We'd love for our guests to dress formally with a garden flair. Florals, elegant suits, and cocktail attire are all very welcome. No jeans, shorts, or stilettos please!

For the Tamil Celebratory Brunch on Sunday, dress to celebrate! Indian attire is encouraged but not mandatory, and if you own a saree, we fully expect you to wear it!! If you are looking to pick something up we have a few recommendations below.

For Welcome Drinks on Friday, dress is casual.

Where should I stay?

We have a limited number of rooms reserved at La Conner Inn, just minutes from the venue. Mention the Jackuline Donovan Wedding when booking. The block closes June 18th, 2026, so we recommend reserving early. Rooms may still be available outside the block, and there are other hotels and Airbnbs in the area as well, explore the options below.

We'd love for you to join us for Welcome Drinks on Friday evening and make a proper weekend of it. Hotel check-in on Saturday falls right at ceremony time, so arriving a day early means you'll be settled and ready. The Skagit Valley in late August is too good to rush through, stay an extra night if you can.

Will there be transport to the venue?

Yes! A school bus will run between La Conner Inn and Christianson's Nursery, departing the hotel at 3:45 PM and returning from the venue at 10:30 PM. We'd rather no one drink and drive. If you are not staying at La Conner Inn, the venue is also accessible by rideshare.

What time should I arrive?

The ceremony starts promptly at 4:30pm, so please be there by 4:00pm. We recommend coming a little early to explore the nursery, and light refreshments will be available when you arrive.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony is outdoors in the Schoolhouse Gardens, followed by dinner and dancing indoors at The Vinery at Christianson's. August evenings in the Skagit Valley can be cool, so we recommend bringing a layer.

What food and drinks will be served?

A full open bar will be available after the ceremony through the end of the evening. The dinner is a sit down meal featuring locally sourced produce, with vegetarian, chicken, and fish options for the main course. Please indicate your preference when you RSVP.

The Tamil Celebratory Brunch on Sunday will feature traditional Tamil fare, think idly, vada, idiappam, kurma, and more.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Our photographer has asked that guests keep phones and cameras down during the key moments of the ceremony. She will capture everything, and we'd love for you to be fully present. Feel free to take as many photos as you like during the reception!

What will the weather be like?

Late August in the Skagit Valley is typically warm and dry. Expect daytime temperatures in the low to mid 70s°F, dropping to around 50 to 55°F in the evening. We recommend bringing a layer for after the ceremony.

Do you have a wedding registry?

The greatest gift you can give us is your presence. Knowing that you've made the journey to celebrate with us means more than anything we could ever put on a registry, please don't feel the need to bring a thing.

Are you guys already married?

We are! A quiet civil ceremony with our immediate families came first, but celebrating with our chosen family is the part we've been waiting for. This day is for all of you as much as it is for us. And yes, we did change our names. We combined them to create a new one together and are now Jackuline Donovan, no hyphen, just two names side by side.
